The last time I was in London, hands down, one of my favorite meals of the trip was at Dishoom Bombay Café in Shoreditch. We ended up in the area after Mitch took us on a self-guided street art tour (and I had wanted to see the Ace Hotel). Just as it started to drizzle we ducked inside this cozy dream of an Indian cafe. Don't the hanging plants make it look so inviting?
I wish I had more photos of the veranda - it was the most amazing indoor/outdoor space filled with cozy chairs, benches and pillows, large plants, hanging lights. We sat at one of the two tops, and ordered lamb samosas and Dishoom chicken tikka.
It was just what we needed after walking up and down the streets all morning taking photos. The atmosphere was intoxicating with spices and mint wafting out of the kitchen. And the food was so good. Next time you are in London, step in off the busy street and spend an afternoon at Dishoom Bombay Café sipping a Kingfisher on the veranda.
